I have pondered this thought for so long. I have been very fortunate with my health and have not had to many complications (for someone diagnosed with CF near birth, almost 30 yrs ago). There are some claims out there that happier people live longer healthier lives. Who knows?!

I have decided to live positively because I would much rather live a happy live than a sad one. This has benefited me in many ways. I have many loving, supportive friends and family. I have a job I love. Although I don't like doing my treatments and therapies, I am very happy they are there to help me!

I just don't understand why anyone WANTS to be unhappy! (I know they are out there, and I know many of them, but I just don't get it.)

Amen sister!!! I totally believe every word you said. I know a girl here in my town who is 17 and has CF. Her mother is so negative. It seems this has a direct effect on how her daughter views CF and how sick she is. About every other month she is in the hospital. I asked her here recently if I could contact her because I am working on starting a Great Strides walk here and she said "that is nice, but I don't participate in things like that". I was shocked! Why wouldn't she want to participate in something that could lead to finding a cure for her daughter.......I guess she is just one of those people that are happy to be unhappy. They probably wouldn't know what to do if a cure was found! My heart aches for people who are like this. There is so much more to life than self pity and sorrow.
